The European Social Survey (the ESS) is a biennial multi-country survey covering over 30 nations. The first round was fielded in 2002/2003, the fifth in 2010/2011. FORS is the Swiss Centre of Expertise in the Social Sciences. FORS maintains a national digital archive for social science research data, implements large-scale national and international surveys, offers data and research information services to researchers and academic institutions, and conducts methodological and thematic research. FORS Data Service is FORS’ resource centre for research and teaching in the social sciences. The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) is the world's largest, on-going telephone health survey system. As a result, surveys were developed and conducted to monitor state-level prevalence of the major behavioral risks among adults associated with premature morbidity and mortality.
