The WegenerNet Data Portal provides a multi-decadal data source for Austrian and international weather, climate, and ecosystems research.
The WegenerNet Open-Air Laboratory Feldbach Region comprises over 150 meteorological stations. These stations measure weather and climate in a tightly spaced grid with an unprecedented level of accuracy and detail. The measurements of several parameters are taken in 5-min intervals within the entire grid since Jan 1, 2007. Additionally, the WegenerNet 3D Observing System observes the troposphere and precipitation with very high spatial and temporal resolution.
As a smaller "sister network", the WegenerNet Gesäuse Region, consists of seventeen meteorological and two hydrographic stations in an alpine setting at altitudes ranging from about 600 m to 2200 m. Data are available generally since 2007 and have a temporal resolution of 10 minutes.
