Remarks
is covered by Elsevier. BioCASE builds on the predecessor projects CDEFD, BioCISE, and ENHSIN. These laid the groundwork for implementing a fully functional service unlocking the immense biological knowledge base formed by biological collections.
BioCASE and GBIF have overlapping objectives. Both cover collection data, but GBIF concentrates on digitised unit-level resources, whereas BioCASE includes also metadata on non-databased collections. Projects and Initiatives related to BioCASE are: https://www.biocase.org/partners_links/index.shtml
BioCASe is the GBIF Participant Node for the Consortium of European Taxonomic Facilities , so the secretariat in Berlin is able to endorse data publishers for the GBIF network
