Probe database provides a public registry of nucleic acid reagents as well as information on reagent distributors, sequence similarities and probe effectiveness. Database users have access to applications of gene expression, gene silencing and mapping, as well as reagent variation analysis and projects based on probe-generated data. The Probe database is constantly updated.
The UniSTS database of sequence tagged sites (STSs) derived from STS-based maps and other experiments will be retired shortly. All data has now been included in to the Probe database. You can retrieve UniSTS records by using the search term "unists[properties]". Additionally, legacy data will remain on the NCBI FTP Site ftp://ftp.ncbi.nih.gov/repository/UniSTS/ in the UniSTS Repository.
