ICPSR maintains a data archive of more than 250,000 files of research in the social and behavioral sciences. It hosts 21 specialized collections of data in education, aging, criminal justice, substance abuse, terrorism, and other fields.
ICPSR advances and expands social and behavioral research, acting as a global leader in data stewardship and providing rich data resources and responsive educational opportunities for present and future generations.
ICPSR is covered by Thomson Reuters Data Citation Index. ICPSR is covered by SCOPUS. ICPSR is an international, membership-based consortium of more than 700 academic institutions and research organizations; ICPSR provides leadership and training in data access, curation, and methods of analysis for the social science research community.In fiscal year 2012, ICPSR secured $10 million in grants and contracts through federal agencies, foundations, and the private sector. ICPSR is also a subcontractor on grants through outside universities and organizations.
