With the support of TELOTA, the Library of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW) operates an institutional repository for the first and second publication of scholarly publications authored or edited by members or staff of the BBAW and its predecessor institutions. The edoc server makes the publications available to the worldwide scholarly community in open access and ensures their long-term archiving. The edoc server is thus part of the implementation of the Academy's Open Science mission statement. Nordicana series D is a formatted, online data report series archived at CEN. It is produced only in electronic form and is freely and openly accessible to CEN researchers and to other users. Each issue is published in French and in English, and is indexed via an assigned digital object identifier (DOI). An issue may be updated, for example with new data, as a new version number, but will retain the same DOI. Each issue contains data sets and extensive metadata that explain the origin of the data, the format of the data, the history of updates via different version numbers, and the format that should be adopted to cite the data.

The FigShare service for University of Auckland, New Zealand was launched in January 2015 and allows researchers to store, share and publish research data. It helps the research data to be accessible by storing Metadata alongside datasets. Additionally, every uploaded item recieves a Digital Object identifier (DOI), which allows the data to be cited. If there are any ethical or copyright concerns about publishing a certain dataset, it is possible to publish the metadata associated with the dataset to help discoverability while sharing the data itself via a private channel through manual approval.
